When it comes to tablet usage among North Americans, the nighttime seems to be the right time.
A recent study from Chitika found that tablet usage is highest between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. Eastern time as many of us are winding down after a workday – relaxing around the TV, catching up on personal email, spending time on social media, etc.
Lowest levels of tablet-driven web browsing occur between 4:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Eastern. Perhaps the need for early morning coffee and managing hectic family schedules leaves recreational web browsing to be done later in the day.
StatCounter data shows that tablet internet usage share has grown to nearly 7% in the United States. And while that’s relatively small compared to traditional desktop usage (78%) and mobile browsing (15%), the rise of tablet internet usage has to be considered in your practice’s online strategy.
