Ruling 1557 of the ACA has caused a lot of confusion among our clients. Recently, we’ve had a number of you ask as to whether or not we have recommendations on how and what to post on your websites to comply. We’ve recently sent out a note to our customers, but also know that many of our clients may have websites they are hosting themselves. Or some of our readers may be looking for answers and resources as to what to do.
HHS has a lot of information about Ruling 1557 here .
We really can’t tell you definitively what, if anything, you need to place on your websites or post in your office. As with many rulings, there is room for both interpretation and what you need to do for compliance may vary by practice, location and the patients you serve. As with anything else legal, we have been advising our web customers that the best course of action is to discuss with your legal counsel. A good resource for Frequently Asked Questions that could help you can be found at this link.
Naturally, if we are hosting your website, we’re prepared to make any changes quickly. As with any other change you want to make, you furnish us with the copy recommended by your counsel and we’ll work with you to make the change. If you’d like for us to help you with your changes, call us at please call 866.331.2354 or email email@example.com.
And if we’re not designing and running your website for you, we’d be glad to. Contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
