When you put forth some effort in bettering your local community, you will gain appreciation for your good deeds. And, when you show you care, people will be more likely to patronize your practice as a response to the good you’ve done.

Sponsorships and community involvement are great ways to gain visibility for your practice, as banners, billboards, T-shirts, fliers and TV spots are often involved. When you align your practice with events like marathons and food drives, you’ll gain visibility and credibility in a very cost-effective manner. Additionally, sponsorships and community involvement open up some great link building opportunities. You could ask to have your link put on local community websites, newspapers, school sites, little league sites, etc.
When done correctly and with passion, giving back to your local community can increase your visibility, amp up sales, help with SEO and generate PR opportunities. However, the benefits your practice can reap should not be your primary motivating factor. By putting your genuine interest and passion first ahead of business promotion and link building, you’ll be able to leverage these other benefits as well. Doing good should be your primary focus while keeping in mind the positive impact that good can have on your practice.
