A couple of months back I shared some thoughts on why on-hold music misses on a huge marketing opportunity for your practice. There are several reasons for this, but the most compelling is that patients WANT to hear information. A USA Business Telephone Today survey found that callers who heard on-hold music only vs. a combination of music and information were 6 times more likely to terminate the call within a one minute hold period.
I recently found a great article that’s probably causing that music-only termination rate to be even higher. It’s a collection of some of the worst on-hold music recordings out there. WARNING: Some of these are really bad. REALLY bad. Listen at your own risk. 🙂
