Patients Are Still Confused About Preventive Care

Despite all the news coverage of healthcare reform and the declaration that many preventive services will be covered by health plans, the fact remains that many consumers still don’t have a grasp on what preventive care entails and what they’re entitled to receive. Our research indicates that 30% of Americans say they don’t feel knowledgeable about what preventive care services are covered by their health insurance plans. And this lack of understanding could be contributing to a lower-than-desirable number of patients taking advantage of preventive care through their healthcare providers.
