Recent TeleVox research has found that patients are longing for more communications from their providers related to their ongoing care. Several of our Healthy World reports have concluded that this increased communication is a key element of effective patient education and high satisfaction ratings for providers.
The need for increased care alerts has most recently been confirmed in a global survey of 2,200 smartphone users conducted by FICO, a predictive analytics and decision management company. The study found that a majority of smartphone users not only want reminders for pre-existing appointments but also prompts to schedule future visits.
Key statistics from the survey include:
- 80% of people would like the option to use their smartphone to interact with healthcare providers.
- 76% of people want medical appointment reminders via their smartphone.
- 69% of people would like to receive reminders to arrange appointments or to prompt them to take their medication.
