40 is the new 30. Orange is the New Black. And doctor reviews are the new referrals.
A recent BrightLocal survey found that 88% of consumers trust online reviews as much as a personal recommendation. That leaves practices in search of answers to two essential questions: “How do I get more doctor reviews from patients?” and “Once I have those doctor reviews, how do I make sure everyone else sees them?”
Let’s tackle that first one. When aiming to drive more doctor reviews from patients, those patients of course have to have a great experience in the practice. But once you’ve got that covered, it also has to be easy and convenient for them to leave a review. No signing up for accounts and all that extra work. If you can make it easy for a patient to visit the website and quickly leave a review, you increase the likelihood of patients taking the time to share their wonderful experience.
Creating Visibility for Doctor Reviews
We’ve made it easy. We’ve made it convenient. Now the challenge is making sure doctor reviews are visible to patients in search of healthcare services. There are a couple of ways to do this:
- First, consider having an independent website for your doctor reviews from patients. There’s a huge benefit to your website rank with search engines using this approach. That site will be visible to search engines along with your current website – basically doubling your opportunity of exposing your current patients’ raves to your future patients in their online searches. You can still have those reviews feed directly into your main practice website.
- Second, summon the power of social media. Doctor reviews tools can offer a Facebook integration that serves as yet another outlet for that positive practice feedback. Now you’ll have three homes for your reviews: your practice website, an independent reviews site, and your Facebook page.
These tools also have an added bonus of allowing a patient to schedule an appointment right from the list of reviews. That’s huge! The patient can read other patients’ reviews and take immediate action to schedule their own outstanding experience. Keep your eyes peeled for another post on that topic coming soon.
