Situation
Lab letters were being used to notify patients across 20 clinic locations, requiring large printing and postage expenses. Many staff hours were then spent fielding questions from patients, resulting in large numbers of both inbound and outbound phone calls.
Results
LabCalls has allowed personnel to make fewer calls and spend less time playing phone tag. From a cost standpoint, automated lab results reporting has removed nearly $200,000 in annual mailing expenses. Patients have expressed satisfaction with the system and the quick delivery of their test results. Kelsey-Seybold can now very easily document all contact with patients regarding their lab results.
