TeleVox and IDX deliver improved patient service and enhanced value to customers
Mobile, AL, May 24, 2001 - TeleVox Software Inc. and IDX Systems Corporation (Nasdaq:IDXC) and have joined forces to improve patient service and reduce costs for physician organizations using IDXtend®.
Working in conjunction with IDX's Healthcare Objects®, TeleVox's HouseCalls™ automatically delivers telephone appointment reminders by tapping into patient information contained in IDXtend (e.g. a patient's name, phone number, time and date of appointment). Once an appointment is scheduled or updated within IDXtend, the information is accessed and shared with HouseCalls.
The integration of the two products is possible because of a new offering from IDX called Healthcare Objects®, which integrates IDXtend with multiple external services, such as HouseCalls from TeleVox. Seamless integration between Healthcare Objects and HouseCalls eases the information distribution over secure networks.
HouseCalls, which is currently utilized by over 15,000 physicians nationwide, delivers messages to patients in a natural voice in multiple languages. TeleVox technology merges audible elements together creating a smooth streaming message. During message delivery, patients can interact with speech or touch tone responses. Patient responses are documented and reported back to the physician practice or clinic. Applications of the messaging solution include simple appointment confirmations, preventive health reminders, medication reminders, and recall notices.
TeleVox delivers the HouseCalls solution in an application service provider (ASP) and an installed format depending on customer needs. The HouseCalls ASP version produces a very high return on investment (ROI) for physician practices and integrated delivery networks while virtually eliminating start-up costs.
"IDX's vision of healthcare includes strengthening the connectivity between providers and patients," said James H. Crook, Jr., president and chief operating officer of IDX. "The combination of Healthcare Objects and TeleVox unites providers with patients and ultimately improves patient satisfaction."
"The Healthcare Objects platform provides the optimum seamless user interface between our software products," said Neil Armentrout, president of TeleVox. "We are happy that IDX chose TeleVox as an authorized Healthcare Objects partner with the opportunity to provide better service to IDX's respected base of clients."
